Latest Project

We are in the process of installing a hot tub - flush with an existing deck. The deck itself is framed with 2x8 pressure treated lumber, the old copper chromate and arsenic impregnated stuff. The surface is mahogany and appearance-wise, the guy did a nice job. I know him, and he is a pretty meticulous carpenter. Currently, it sits on patio blocks for support, the joist hangers are under-sized, and the nails holding this deck up are rusting away and undersized. So, I am surprised...as will be the customer after I point these things out and discuss the cost of rectifying the situation.
Anyhoo - we've cut out the deck surface as necessary, I've dug out the "pad" area, put in 1.15 tons of stone and framed in for the concrete pour. We will be using fiber-reinforced concrete, and letting it cure for 3-4 days.

I made some amazingly accurate sawz-all cuts to get the framing right....and it's right....But not quitw done - I wanted to leave the crete guys some room to move.

Ready to go.
